Gilles Walers

Gilles Walers comes with a strong business, strategy and law background.
He is a member of the executive board of the Chambre des Métiers du Luxembourg, where he heads the strategic, legal and European affairs teams.
Since 2023, he is also a board member of SMEunited and holds the position as Secretary General of the Interregional Council of the Chambers of Skilled Trades and Crafts in the Greater Region since November 2026.
Prior to his current position, he made a career in the financial sector working in the London and Luxembourg offices of Clifford Chance LLP as well as the Luxembourg Bankers’ Association as senior advisor for financial markets.
A lawyer by background, Gilles received his legal training at the Universities of Paris II Panthéon-Assas and Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne, as well as Yale University and Harvard University Law School.
He further holds a master’s degree in general law from Duke University School of Law.
He is a board member for several associations: Fondation de Luxembourg, Fondation EPI, Luxembourg SME Mutuality (Mutualité des PME), SME Fiduciairy (Fiduciaire des PMEs) and SMART PME.
