Georges Friden is a diplomat currently serving as Ambassador of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (since September 2022).
He also brings EU experience having assumed duties as Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Luxembourg to the European Union in Brussels including previously being Deputy Permanent Representative. His professional career included the position as Director General for Political Affairs at theMinistry of Foreign Affairs in Luxembourg.
His academic credentials are postgraduate degrees from the University of Cambridge (UK), and the College of Europe (Bruges, Belgium) after having studied law, international relations and political sciences. He is qualified as a full member of the Luxembourg Bar.
